Volunteer at Dolores Mission School

There are volunteer opportunities within each classroom and parents are required to meet a specific amount of in-classroom volunteer hours. In addition, Dolores Mission School has many activities and opportunities where volunteers are needed to chaperone, or oversee certain responsibilities at the at the monthly Cenas, Camino Seguro, or at the annual fundraising benefit, La Fiesta de Comunidad.
Information about specific opportunities will be available in the weekly bulletin. For more information about parent service hours, please refer to the handbook.
In addition to volunteers, Dolores Mission School also needs in-kind donations of goods and services. This list is available at the beginning of the school year and reminders are posted in the weekly bulletin.
If you are interested in donating time or goods, please contact the school office for more details.Additionally our volunteers will be required to complete VIRTUS training. Adult volunteers will complete the “Protecting Children” program and youth volunteers will complete the “Teaching Touching Safety” program. The Dolores Mission Safeguard the Children Committee offers this training at Dolores Mission, please contact the Parish Secretary for the schedule. You may also attend these training sessions at a different Parish, click on the link below for registration instructions and attend at a different Parish.
IMPORTANT – All parents AND additional volunteers must have a VIRTUS certificate in order to complete volunteer hours within the classroom, during field trips, and for recess supervision. For upcoming VIRTUS classes, call Dolores Mission Church at (323) 881-0039
Volunteer Information
In accordance with the Policies and Procedures of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, the Dolores Mission Safe Guard the Children Committee ensures that all our adult and youth volunteers complete the appropriate forms, training and fingerprinting prior to beginning their volunteer efforts at our Parish. Adults working with children are required to be fingerprinted. The Archdiocese of Los Angeles offers free fingerprinting, you may view the schedule on the link below:
